The AMA Pittsburgh chapter connects self-directed professionals and students in a mentoring program which combines e-mentoring and one-on-one mentoring styles. The mission of the Pittsburgh AMA Mentor Program partners marketing college students with marketing professionals for the purpose of supporting, guiding, and encouraging these juniors and seniors as they transition from their education to professional careers.
Mentors need to commit nine months of consistent time being an adult friend and role model to a college junior or senior (mentee). Mentors invest their time listening, building trust, and establishing a relationship that encourages the mentee to make the most of their college experience prior to moving into a career.
Pittsburgh AMA mentors participation expectations include:
- Regular electronic communication with mentee (via email or social media)
- Monthly face-to-face or phone meeting with mentee
- Free mentor training provided at The Mentoring Partnership of SWPA (if needed)
